Fix Your Own Gadgets With Moldable Silicone Sugru

Have you ever had cracked gadget plastic cases or cable connector joints break on you? This ingenious silicon putty called Sugru can help.

You can mold the putty to whatever shape you need, wait 24 hours and it will harden into a tough, rubbery yet waterproof shape. Like modelling clay it hardens at room temperature. “Sugru is designed to stick to as many other materials as possible. It forms a strong bond to aluminum, steel, ceramics, glass and other materials including plastics like perspex.”

After the sugru compound cures, it is flexible rather than rigid. This means you can repair things that need to be able to move like textiles, cables, or shoes.

There are so many things I can think of to use Sugru, we plan to get some and do a future blog post on it.
